Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides community health, mental health, and specialised health services. It operates across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Swindon, and Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES).  It hosts the NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre, the NIHR Oxford and Thames Valley Applied Research Collaboration (ARC)  and the NIHR Community Healthcare MedTech and In Vitro Diagnostics Co-operative (MIC).

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust logo

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest acute teaching trusts in the UK, with a national and international reputation for the excellence of its services and its role in patient care, teaching, and research. It employs 11,000 people and has three hospitals in Oxford and the District General Hospital in Banbury.  OUH hosts the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre, the OAHP, Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley, and the NIHR Thames Valley and South Midlands Clinical Research Network.

Oxford University’s Medical Sciences Division is one of the largest biomedical research departments in Europe, with over 2,500 people involved in research and more than 2,800 students. Oxford University is rated # one in the world for medicine and is home to the UK’s top-ranked medical school.

Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley

Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley  gets healthcare innovation into everyday practice to improve patient safety, outcomes, and experience, and generates economic growth, through collaboration between the NHS, industry, and universities. Health Innovation covers a region of three million people living in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes, and Oxfordshire. It is also sits within a leading national and international life sciences cluster with more than 640 life science businesses.

OAHP Board Member: Professor Gary Ford CBE, Chief Executive Officer

  • Dr Nick Broughton, CEO Oxford Health is currently on secondment as Interim Chief Officer for the BOB ICB.  Dr Karl Marlowe, Chief Medical Officer, is the Board member.

OAHP also works closely with the other AHSCs through the group meetings, the local NIHR infrastructure including the NIHR Clinical Research Network and the NIHR, other Health Innovation networks, the Oxford Cambridge ARC, and the BOB Integrated Care System.
