Dr Bruno Holthof

Dr Bruno Holthof, Chief Executive Officer of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and an MD/PhD from the University of Leuven. Before becoming a CEO, he was a partner at McKinsey & Company. During this period, he served a wide range of healthcare clients in Europe and the United States and gained significant expertise in the areas of strategy, organization and operations.

Before moving to Oxford in October 2015, Bruno was CEO of the Antwerp Hospital Network, transforming it into the most profitable hospital group in Belgium. Bruno Holthof is a member of the Board of Barco NV, a public listed company providing visualization solutions for professional markets, and a member of the Board of Bpost, the Belgian Post which is publicly listed since 2013.

The Chief Executive Officer is personally responsible, with the NHS Chief Executive, as parliamentary accountable officer for ensuring that the organisation works effectively in accordance with national policy and public service values, and maintains proper financial stewardship. The Chief Executive is also personally accountable for clinical governance and partnerships.

Bruno has announced that he is stepping down as CEO from 30 June 2022 and his successor is being recruited.  Professor Meghana Pandit, currently Chief Medical Officer at the OUH, has been appointed as Interim CEO from 1 July 2022.
