Chris is Professor of Primary care and he leads the Infections and Acute Care Research Group and is Clinical Director of the University of Oxford Primary Care Clinical Trials Unit. In addition he is Clinical Director of the NIHR MedTech and In Vitro Diagnostics Cooperative for innovative diagnostic and monitoring technology to enhance Community Healthcare. He sits on the Board of the OAHP in this capacity. He is a Professorial Fellow at Trinity College. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences and a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Senior Investigator
He is Chair of the Longitude Prize Advisory Panel and a salaried GP in Mountain Ash in South Wales for the Cwm Taf University Health Board and, in 2019, was awarded the Wales Royal College of General Practitioner’s patient-nominated GP of the Year Award and holds a number of honorary appointments across the world.
