Oxford Brookes improves its rankings

Oxford Brookes’ global reputation for the quality of its teaching has been recognised in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject.  More information can be found here.

The 2019 rankings found that Oxford Brookes is ranked amongst the “world’s top universities” in 12 subjects.

We are rightly proud that one in five of our students come from over 150 countries around the world and I have no doubt that the global profile of Oxford Brookes will ensure the University continues to be a popular place to study.

Hospitality and Leisure Management was a subject area which saw a particular improvement and moved into the world’s top ten (9th in 2019, compared to 18th last year).

QS has stated that Oxford Brookes is amongst the world’s top universities for the following subjects:

• Accounting and Finance
• Architecture and Built Environment
• Business & Management Studies
• Computer Science & Information Systems
• Economics and Econometrics
• Education
• English Language and Literature
• Geography
• Hospitality & Leisure Management
• Law
• Modern Languages
• Politics & International Studies
The University also ranked in three of the ranking’s broader subject areas. These are:
• Arts and Humanities
• Engineering and Technology
• Social Sciences and Management

This last ranking success is just the latest in a long list of achievements for Oxford Brookes in recent university guides.

For the second year in a row Oxford Brookes was hailed as the UK’s top university in the latest QS Top 50 Under 50 Ranking. The University also moved up to 40th in the world within the rankings and is again the only UK institution to make the list.

Oxford Brookes was also recognised as the top UK university for both teaching and research in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2018.
