Dr Bruno Holthof and Professor Sir Jonathan Montgomery, Chief Executive Officer and Chair of Oxford University Hospitals (OUH), have written a personal thank you letter to school headteachers to thank them and their staff for everything they are doing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The message is being sent out to all schools in Oxfordshire today (Wednesday 20 May) which is National Thank a Teacher Day.
Bruno and Jonathan said: “We are writing on behalf of our staff here at OUH to thank you and your teams personally for everything you are doing during the COVID-19 pandemic for the children of key workers working in the NHS and other essential services.
“It must be hugely challenging to maintain safe environments for those students and teachers who need to be in school at this time, while supporting the rest of your students working at home.
“We wanted you to know just how much we value what you are doing for the children of our staff here at OUH, other NHS and care staff, and key workers throughout Oxfordshire. Thanks to your efforts, our staff can come to work knowing that their children’s education is in safe hands while they care for our patients.”
Headteachers are being asked to share the message with teachers and all support staff so that they know how grateful the NHS is for all their hard work.
